Shefali Parikh, MD is a pediatric palliative care physician, with a background in pediatric hematology/oncology. Dr. Parikh grew up in New York and New Jersey and completed her undergraduate studies at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. She graduated from Rutgers – New Jersey Medical School and completed her pediatrics residency at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She completed fellowship training in pediatric hematology/oncology and subsequently in pediatric hospice and palliative medicine, both at CHOP. She remained at CHOP after fellowship training as full-time faculty in palliative care. Dr. Parikh is currently the Director of the Ingerman Center for Palliative Care at CHOP. Her interests are in providing excellent clinical palliative care to children and their families faced with serious illness, promoting quality improvement within pediatric palliative care, sustainability and resilience at a team and personal level, and improving education in empathetic communication techniques. Dr. Parikh holds an appointment of Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
