Dr. Santivasi is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Duke University School of Medicine and the Medical Director of Palliative Care Consult Services at Duke University Hospital. He primarily takes care of hospitalized patients, working alongside the interdisciplinary team and medical students, residents, and fellows at Duke University Hospital. His research interests include palliative care delivery and integration into the care of patients with hematologic malignancies and how educational experiences in palliative care shape the professional identities of medical learners in medical school, residency, and fellowship. He is a graduate of the Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed his Internal Medicine residency, served as a chief resident, and completed his Hospice and Palliative Medicine fellowship at Mayo Clinic prior to joining Duke Health in 2021.
