Robert Leavitt, MBA, MDiv, MAT, is a Board-Certified Chaplain and Health Equity Fellow on the Palliative Care Team at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington, and an iPEC-trained coach with expertise in mitigating healthcare worker burnout. As a Humanist Chaplain, Robert provides culturally responsive interfaith and secular spiritual care to a diverse group of patients, families, and staff, affirming their inherent dignity while advocating for equitable access to holistic care.
Robert is dedicated to promoting health equity through interdisciplinary collaboration and innovative quality improvement initiatives that address biased and stigmatizing language in medical chart notes.
Robert's scholarly contributions include peer-reviewed publications in the Journal of Religion and Health, Qualitative Health Research, and Journal of Health Care Chaplaincy. He brings additional expertise from diverse professional backgrounds in higher education, ethics, coaching, and non-profit leadership, strengthened by advanced education. His multidisciplinary perspective informs innovative approaches to person-centered palliative care that address patients' physical, emotional, spiritual, and social needs.
