Assistant Professor of Medicine
Massachusetts General Hospital
I am an Attending Physician in both Inpatient and Outpatient Palliative Care at Massachusetts General Hospital. I am a graduate from the Brown-Dartmouth Program in Medicine in 1989, and my internship and residency training was in the Primary Care Program at MGH. I practiced Primary Care at Womens' Health Associates where I practiced until 2013. In 2007, I started training in Palliative Care by attending PCEP through the Harvard medical School Center for Palliative Care. I took time away from my practice to start training in Palliative Care in 2011. In 2012 I achieved my subspeciality in Palliative and Hospice Medicine, and I began working part time in Palliatives Care at MGH. In 2013, I left my Primary Care practice to assume a full-time position in Palliative Care. I was the Medical Director of the Inpatient Palliative Care team from 2013-2020 when I stepped down to pursue other interests. I currently am a full-time Attending on the Palliative Care team at MGH as well as the co-host of a 3 season TV show entitled "Talking About Palliative Care" on Catholic TV.
