Dr. Tracy Romanello D.O. FACOFP FAAHPM HMDC, Medical Director, is a recognized leader in the field of palliative and hospice medicine, playing a pivotal role in expanding services in South Florida over the past decade. She is board certified in Family Practice and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment and in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, recognized as a Fellow by the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM).
Dr. Romanello has pioneered the start of palliative care services into acute care settings and under her leadership has grown a reputable practice. She has hospital staff privileges at several local hospitals, rehabilitative centers, and nursing care centers in South Florida. Her hospice tenure has seen a 100% increase in patient census, achieved through targeted training, community outreach, relationship building, contract negotiations, and an unwavering commitment to the highest standards of care. Her strong project management skills has led major projects- including expansion and remodels of inpatient hospice units.
Dedicated to shaping the next generation of providers, education is central to her mission. She serves as a Faculty/Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine at Nova Southeastern University and faculty for University of Miami at Holy Cross Health and HCA Florida Aventura Hospital.
Dr. Romanello has presented at national conferences, including the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization 2022 Leadership and Advocacy Conference and the NHPCO 2021 Interdisciplinary Conference. She also presented at the 2020 South Florida Neuroscience Symposium, at Holy Cross Health in partnership with Massachusetts General Hospital. A publication in Palliative Medicine Reports highlights her collaborative work with the Florida Palliative Care Coalition in 2023.
