Jackie Boyden, PhD, MPH, RN is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Health at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, with a secondary appointment in the Department of Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The goal of Jackie’s research is to advance palliative and hospice care for all children with serious illnesses and their families, with a focus on care in the home and community setting. She is currently focused on developing a way to enhance the communication of families’ experiences of palliative and hospice care at home with their pediatric palliative care teams to improve the concordance of families’ care priorities and their care experiences. Jackie practiced as a pediatric nurse in both the acute care and community settings, and received her PhD from the University of Pennsylvania.
