Michael Fratkin, MD identifies as a father & a husband, as well as an ever evolving palliative care physician in rural Northern California. In addition to serving as Medical Director for a community non-profit hospice, he formed inpatient and cancer clinic embedded palliative care consultation services. In 2014, he founded ResolutionCare to provide high quality inter professional palliative care to people in their homes using telehealth technology with a broad array of collaborating partners. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Michael dedicated himself to helping the field integrate telehealth technology with soul as we navigated great challenges together. He departed that enterprise not long after it was purchased.
For nearly 30 years, Michael has been working to build a bridge between the palliative care field and the psychedelic scientists responsible for establishing the refreshed data set and evidence that is now the basis of the current "Psychedelic Renaissance." He current passion is advancing the knowledge, interest, and experience of palliative care professionals in this complex domain of unprecedented therapeutic potential. Michael is building a palliative care program within an integrative mental health clinic providing ketamine assisted therapy in collaboration with community hospice, geriatric, Native American, and veterans agencies. He is building a series of affinity peer group support based intensive ketamine assisted therapy for First Responders. Michael has been appointed to the Board of Psychedelic Medicine and Therapies, a credentialing body. He is a Co-Chair for the Psychedelic Medicine Association, Bay Area regional chapter and is a past Chair of the AAHPM Safe Use of Psychedelic Assisted Therapy Forum. Finally, Michael has formed a vibrant community of over 900 professionals dedicated to sharing knowledge, experience, and wisdom about the intesection of Palliative Care and Psychedelic Medicine. He is also a board member for the Institute for Rural Psychedelic Care and Divine Journeys.
