Psychosocial Oncology Manager: Social work/counselor

Melody Fryling is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Grief Counselor, specializing in trauma care, grief, and loss. She is currently working as both the Manager of the Psychosocial Oncology Team and as a Provider for Tennessee Oncology. She comes from a diverse background in practice, including Community Mental Health, Adjunct Professor at Bowling Green State University and Private Practice. She also has extensive Hospice and Palliative Care experience. She is very passionate about ensuring equal-access-to-care and ensuring the delivery of the highest quality of care for all TN Oncology Patients who need support during their cancer journey. This led to her involvement with the NEST Grant Program, as her values correlate with the NEST Grant’s focus on alleviating inequity in the receipt of Supportive Services in under-served regions in the State of TN. She has participated in the Grant by assuming multiple roles; serving as Facilitator for a Community Advisory Board, and acting as the Focus Group Facilitator in her Region. In her role as Manager of the Psychosocial Oncology Team, she is also ensuring provision of Psychosocial Oncology Support in these under-served regions.
