Dr. Kale is a Palliative Medicine Physician and Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC), where he currently serves as Medical Director for Ambulatory Palliative Medicine. He graduated from medical school at the University of Pittsburgh and subsequently completed his Internal Medicine Residency at The Ohio State University and his Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
In 2020 he founded the Palliative Harm Reduction and Resiliency Clinic at OSUWMC. This clinic is dedicated to caring for patients with cancer and concurrent substance use disorders. This clinic model has been presented nationally, including at the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine and the American Academy of Pain. He was named as a 2024 Emerging Leader in Hospice and Palliative Medicine by AAHPM and is the Chair for the Substance Use Disorder Special Interest Group at AAHPM.
