Professor, Distinguished Palliative Care Leader, Health Policy Analyst

Dr. Tracy Fasolino is a Professor, Distinguished Palliative Care Leader, and Health Policy Analyst with the School of Nursing, Center for Research Health Disparities, at Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina. She recently completed a Health & Aging Policy Fellowship (2024-2025) with Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA) in Washington, D.C. She is passionate about rural areas and addressing the needs of those marginalized and underserved communities. She was a 2021 Cambia Sojourn Scholar and worked to address the health needs of rural residents in Appalachia struggling with COPD. She has an active clinical practice as an embedded palliative care APRN in a pulmonary practice, having spearheaded this community-based, first-of-its-kind, nurse-led model of care to address the needs of those with advanced lung disease. She has published widely on the clinical and research aspects of palliative care, with more recent scholarship focusing on health policy and advocacy.
