Clinical Nurse Coordinator, Outpatient Palliative Care

Loren Steinfeldt, RN, BSN, MSPC is the Clinical Nurse Coordinator for several specialty palliative care clinics at the University of Kansas Health System. Hired to the Outpatient Palliative Care Division at the University of Kansas Health System in 2022, Loren partnered with her providers to build and/or grow clinics for patient with ALS, Parkinson's, advanced heart failure and LVAD; adult congenital heart disease, adolescent and young adults with neuromuscular disease; adolescents and young adults with complex care needs, pediatrics, and perinatal patients. In 2024, she helped create and grow a new concept General Palliative Care clinic with subspecialties for complex head and neck cancer and end-stage liver disease patients. Loren has more than 25 years of experience in nursing across a broad spectrum of specialties and care settings. In 2024, she also partnered with another RN and two social workers to create the Legacy Program at KUMC. She received her Master of Science in Palliative Care from the University of Colorado-Anschutz in 2021. Loren is also an avid animal rescuer and volunteer and lives with two rescue pets of her own.
