Ciara G. Smith, MD (she/her/hers)

Department of Psychiatry and Department of Internal Medicine, University of Kentucky College of Medicine

Ciara Smith, MD is a PGY-5 resident in the Internal Medicine-Psychiatry residency program at the University of Kentucky, where she recently served as Co-Chief Resident and the Community Advancement Chief Resident for the program. She is a native of Hampton, VA and a graduate of the B.S./M.D. accelerated degree program at Howard University. She is a member of the second cohort of the AAHPM Next Gen Scholars and her current interests include outpatient palliative care, the integration of palliative medicine and psychiatry, medical education and community outreach. In July 2026, she will begin her Hospice and Palliative Medicine fellowship training at the University of North Carolina.
