Harvard Medical School
Jaeyoon is a fourth-year Harvard Medical School student interested in global health, oncology, and palliative care. Born in South Korea and raised in the U.S. since age 9, she now calls Dallas home. Jaeyoon’s commitment to global health is informed by her lived experiences as an immigrant and her research on Tuberculosis in Vietnam and at the Thai-Myanmar border. She earned her bachelor’s degree in molecular biology and global health policy from Princeton University and ETH Zurich. Following graduation, she worked as an oncology trial coordinator at UCSF, which reaffirmed her desire to care for people living with chronic illness. At Harvard, she leads the Global Oncology Alliance, directs the student-led clinics, mentors peers, and conducts clinical research. She is collaborating with Rwandan colleagues to expand palliative care at the Butaro Cancer Center. Outside of medicine, Jaeyoon enjoys traveling and playing the violin in the Longwood Symphony Orchestra.
