Dr. David Hui currently holds the Dallas Fort Worth Living Legend Professorship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, USA. He is the Director of Research at the Department of Palliative, Rehabilitation and Integrative Medicine, with a joint appointment to the Department of General Oncology. He is also the founding Director and Head of the Center for Goal Concordant Care Research at MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research interests include symptom management clinical trials, integration of supportive/palliative care and oncology, goal concordant care, prognostication, and research methodology. He has authored and/or co-authored over 390 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and has authored and/or edited 4 books. He is the principal investigator of several randomized controlled trials funded by the National Cancer Institute, National Institute of Nursing Research and American Cancer Society. He is also a senior associate editor of the Journal of Pain and Symptom Management and a board member of the Multinational Association for Supportive Care in Cancer. In addition to academic pursuits, he remains active clinically in both palliative care and medical oncology.
