Dr. Yvonne Heung is an Associate Professor in the Department of Palliative, Rehabilitation and Integrative Medicine and Associate Program Director of the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center. She received her medical degree from Albany Medical College through the Leadership in Medicine B.S./M.S./M.D. combined-degree program. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s-Roosevelt and fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at MD Anderson Cancer Center. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Dr. Heung is passionate about empowering patients and optimizing quality of life at any stage of disease through whole-person care. Dr. Heung’s research interests include integration of supportive/palliative care, patient experience and improving disparities in the care of adolescents and young adults.
