Carina Oltmann, LCSW, MSSW is a palliative care social worker and researcher dedicated to improving grief and bereavement care across the serious illness trajectory. She has worked at the intersection of palliative, oncology and geriatric care for over twenty years. Ms. Oltmann currently serves as Senior Research Associate in the Department of Public Health Sciences at University of Miami and she is completing her PhD in Palliative Care at Lancaster University, where her doctoral research is focused on the grief and bereavement experiences of family surrogate decision makers in the critical care setting. Carina is widely published in peer-reviewed journals as well as textbooks, including the Oxford Textbook of Palliative Social Work. She is deeply dedicated to high-quality, equitable serious illness and end-of-life care rooted in the interdisciplinary model.
