UT Southwestern Medical Center
Sarah Wright is a Clinical Research Assistant in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Her research examines outcome disparities alongside family experiences during pediatric cancer care, with the goal of informing the development of poverty-targeted interventions for children and their families.
Sarah recently earned her BA in Sports Medicine and Exercise Physiology from Rice University. During her undergraduate training, she developed a keen interest in using human-centered design to understand social needs within her community and to translate those insights into practical interventions. This experience now informs her approach to understanding parent perspectives and developing interventions that address the social and economic challenges that families face throughout pediatric cancer treatment. Sarah remains passionate about improving pediatric cancer care by centering family perspectives and addressing structural barriers, and plans to pursue a career in medicine in order to integrate clinical care with equity-focused research and intervention development.
