Ashley F. Lanzel, MD, MA, trained in pediatrics at Johns Hopkins Hospital, pediatric hematology-oncology at Emory/Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and hospice and palliative medicine at the National Institutes of Health. While at Emory University, she obtained a Master of Arts in bioethics. She joined the Panda Palliative Care Team as an attending and the Children's National Ethics committee in 2020. She loves education and became invested in the CNH hospice and palliative medicine fellowship program. She has transitioned from the APD to the program director in 2025. Her research focus is in pediatric palliative care, decision-making, communication, palliative oncology, pediatric palliative ethics, and palliative care education. When she is not at work, she is home caring for her children.
