Yasmina Hachem is a final-year resident in internal medicine at Mount Auburn Hospital, where she will stay to complete a chief residency year and a fellowship in medical education. She received her medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Prior to this, she completed a BSc (Hon) at McGill University in anatomy and cell biology. She was recently selected as a Next Gen Scholar for Equity in Hospice and Palliative Medicine by the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. She actively studies resident wellness, palliative care training in graduate medical education, the implementation of programs in improving access to and quality of serious illness communication, and complementary therapeutics in supportive care. Prior to residency, her projects involved biomedical ethics, clinical applications of medical cannabis, and mechanisms of cancer cell metastasis.
