Doctoral Student
University of Colorado Denver
Austin Mallard is a second-year doctoral student in the Clinical Health Psychology PhD program at the University of Colorado Denver. He serves as a graduate research assistant on a multi-site clinical trial of psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy (PAP) for adults with advanced cancer, and as a graduate assistant with the CU Denver Center for Psychedelic Research Facilitator Training Program. His current research leverages network analytic approaches to identify potential psychotherapeutic treatment targets for advanced cancer-related distress among individuals seeking PAP. He is particularly interested in how PAP may facilitate shifts in meaning in life and whether these changes contribute to improvements in psychosocial well-being and emotional regulatory capacities among individuals with advanced cancer.
