African Palliative Care Association
Dr Eve Namisango is the Executive Director at the African Palliative Care Association. She is honorary research fellow, at Cicely Saunders Institute King’s College London and honorary lecturer at Cardiff University and Makerere University. Eve also coordinates the 400-member African Palliative Care Research Network and teaches Research Methodology at the Institute of Hospice and Palliative Care in Uganda.
Eve has over ten years’ experience in palliative care, international development, leadership, team building, grant writing, forging partnerships, donor liaison, governance, academic and scientific writing, patient and public engagement and involvement, policy maker engagement, programme design, implementation and evaluation. She is an innovator and knowledge translation enthusiast and effective public speaker. Eve is an active practitioner in Child Life Support and Play Therapy in palliative care settings. Her current work focuses on integrating the African Children’s Palliative Care Outcome scale into routine children’s palliative care to drive quality improvement and developing person-centred models for grief and bereavement and end of life care in Africa.
Outside work, Eve enjoys service user and public engagement discussions, coaching in groups, child life support, family strengthening, spirituality, meditation, yoga, music, art, theatre and culture. She enjoys playing Volleyball and Lawn Tennis.
