Catherine Samaniego is a first-year medical student at New York Medical College. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience from the University of Michigan, graduating with University Honors. Prior to medical school, she worked as a Clinical Research Coordinator in the Department of Neurosurgery at Weill Cornell Medicine, where she supported clinical trials involving neurodegenerative disease, brain tumors, and novel neurosurgical interventions. Her research interests center on cognitive aging, neuropsychiatric and behavioral manifestations of neurological disease, and health disparities in neurodegeneration. She has contributed to longitudinal studies on stress, anxiety, and depression, as well as qualitative research examining psychological symptom assessment in palliative care, and is a co-author on multiple peer-reviewed publications.
