Dr. Catherine Trimbur is a primary care physician who is triple board-certified in internal medicine, addiction medicine, and palliative care. She works at Brown University’s Transitions Clinic, where she collaborates with peer recovery specialists and community health workers to provide comprehensive care for people with histories of carceral exposure, with a focus on those with serious illnesses and substance use disorders. Catherine also provides pain management and palliative care consults at the Rhode Island Adult Correctional Institute, the states unified prison/jail system. In addition to her clinical work, she is dedicated to medical education and has developed a psychosocial curriculum with an interdisciplinary team to help medical residents maintain empathy and reduce stigma when caring for marginalized patients.
