Nurse Practitioner
Tennessee Oncology
Sara Hargrove Erger, MSN, AGPCNP-BC, AOCNP, is a dedicated nurse practitioner whose clinical and academic journey reflects a deep commitment to advancing community health through collaboration, education, and evidence-based practice. A 2011 graduate of Tennessee Technological University Whitson-Hester School of Nursing (BSN) and a 2016 graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Nursing (MSN), she holds dual board certifications in Adult-Gerontology Primary Care and Oncology.
Bringing more than a decade of experience in oncology, hospice, and internal medicine, she practices at both Tennessee Oncology and Gentiva Hospice in Cookeville, Tennessee. Sara’s approach aligns naturally with the principles of Community Based Participatory Research — ensuring that community voice, local knowledge, and equitable collaboration are central to the research process and in clinical practice.
Sara and her husband, Eric, live in Cookeville with their beloved Labrador, Admiral. She is the proud mother of Gavin (Abigail), a recent Wildlife and Fisheries graduate of Tennessee Tech, and Aubrey, a sophomore at East Tennessee State University.
