Dr. Leah Walsh is a clinical psychologist, National Cancer Institute-funded T32 postdoctoral research fellow in Cancer Prevention and Control for Priority Populations, and Instructor in the Brookdale Department of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. As a member of the Steven S. Elbaum Family Center for Caregiving at Mount Sinai, her research focuses on identifying the unique needs of family and friend caregivers of patients with serious illness. She is passionate about adapting, testing, and implementing psychotherapeutic interventions to improve caregiver outcomes such as anxiety, depression, existential distress, and preparedness for caregiving, particularly around transitions of patient care.
