Dr. Nevins-Herbert received her BA at Connecticut College in Neuroscience/Psychobiology. She then earned her MD at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. She fell in love with Rhode Island during her family medicine residency through Brown University at Memorial Hospital of RI followed by a hospice and palliative medicine fellowship at Jamaica Hospital in Queens, NY. She returned to RI and has been working at Hope Health ever since as a hospice and palliative care physician. Currently, she works at the HopeHealth Hulitar Inpatient Hospice Center. Her love of teaching has led her to become part of the Geriatrics and Palliative Care faculty as well as an instructor in the Doctoring course for first and second year students at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She can almost always be seen with a learner working with her and is known for her role as the "difficult patient" in role plays for the Hospice and Palliative Medicine fellows.
