Emily Olson is a Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner at Mayo Clinic Rochester. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Winona State University in Winona, Minnesota and is certified as an advanced practice hospice and palliative nurse. Ms. Olson is also an Instructor of Oncology and Assistant Professor of Palliative Medicine within the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. Emily is currently the program director for the NP/PA Hospice and Palliative Care fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, Fellow in the Academy of Educational Excellence at Mayo Clinic and co-author for Palliative Medicine Ask Mayo Expert content.
Ms. Olson’s clinical duties include providing palliative care services in both consultative and inpatient palliative care unit settings
Ms. Olson’s clinical interests include complex symptom management and psychosocial assessment and interventions aimed at providing whole person care. In addition, Emily enjoys educational leadership opportunities and advanced practice clinician curriculum development as it pertains to subspecialty palliative care training.
