Greg Merrill, LCSW, has worked full-time as a clinical social worker, supervisor, and educator for over 34 years. He was the Director of Client & Advocacy Services at Community United Against Violence in San Francisco, the Clinical Social Work Supervisor at the UCSF Trauma Recovery and Rape Treatment Center at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, and the Director of Field Education and MSW Co-Chairperson at UC Berkeley’s School of Social Welfare where he taught courses in motivational interviewing. He also has provided consultation, training, and coaching on motivational interviewing to health, child welfare, and mental health systems of care since 2007. He has worked as the clinical social worker at the UCSF Outpatient Palliative Care Service since August 1, 2021 where he specializes in care coordination, supporting patients with psychological distress, and supporting caregiver and caregiver systems. His father lived with Parkinson's disease.
