Heather Boykin is a palliative care nurse practitioner. She holds a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is also a board-certified Adult Nurse Practitioner. She has worked many years in academic medicine providing care to hospitalized patients with palliative care needs. Currently she serves as Director of Serious Illness Programs at a prominent, non-for-profit organization in Raleigh, North Carolina. She remains a practicing clinician, caring for people living with cancer, heart failure, kidney disease, dementia and other serious illnesses. Heather is passionately dedicated to helping people living with serious illness, and their families, to navigate their healthcare journey in a way that aligns with their goals for quality of life, dignity, peace and respect.
