Stephanie Lehrman, LCSW, APHSW-C is a Manager of Social Work at Mount Sinai West, and has held this role since July 2022. She supervises social workers in the areas of inpatient palliative care, oncology, and medicine, as well as outpatient areas, including OB/GYN and primary care. She facilitates the social work education committee and oversees quality improvement initiatives aimed at social work education in palliative care. Stephanie presented a poster at the 2025 Social Work Hospice and Palliative Care Network, showcasing social work practice innovation. Stephanie contributed to Mount Sinai West’s successful application for Palliative Care Joint Commission Certification (TJC) in 2023 and subsequent re-certification in 2025.
Prior to her transfer to Mount Sinai West, Stephanie worked at Mount Sinai Hospital for over 7 years, where she held both inpatient and outpatient social work roles, focusing on supporting adults impacted by lung cancer. In 2019, Stephanie was promoted to Social Work Program Coordinator, and provided psychosocial support to adults in the supportive oncology and the Phase 1 clinical trial programs, as well as staff and social work intern supervision. She presented on her work at the 2022 Association of Oncology Social Work annual conference.
Stephanie started her social work career at Mount Sinai in 2015 after receiving her Master’s in Social Work from Hunter College, with a specialty in clinical practice, and a sub-specialty in health and mental health. Stephanie completed NYU’s Zelda Foster Post-Master’s Certificate Program in Palliative and End of Life Care in 2018 and completed Hunter College’s Seminar in Field Instruction (SIFI) at in 2020. She is currently completing NYU’s Post-Master’s Certificate in Clinical Approaches with Adolescents. Stephanie trained as a graduate intern at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), and was previously a pediatric oncology care coordinator at MSKCC.
