Kelsey Hansen is a compassionate and dedicated in-patient, Palliative Medicine Social Worker at Stanford Hospital, where she has been making a meaningful impact for the past three years. With a Master’s degree in Social Work and a commitment to patient-centered care, Kelsey specializes in addressing the complex emotional and psychosocial needs of patients and families facing serious illnesses.
Throughout her career, Kelsey has demonstrated a strong ability to advocate for patients and their families, facilitating difficult conversations about prognosis, end-of-life care and building strong therapeutic alliance with her patients. Her experience includes serving as a clinical preceptor for new hires and interns, where she shares her knowledge and passion for palliative care with the next generation of healthcare professionals. Kelsey is also actively involved in quality improvement projects where she collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care as well as facilitating wellness focused sustainable practice groups for medical fellows.
In addition to her clinical work, Kelsey is an invited lecturer and guest presenter at various educational events, where she shares her insights on palliative care practices. She is passionate about community engagement and is committed to raising awareness about the importance of palliative care in improving patient outcomes.
