Dr. L. Emily Cotter is an Associate Professor of Palliative Medicine at the University of New Mexico and Chief of the Division of Palliative Medicine. She is also the Program Director of the UNM Hospice and Palliative Medicine fellowship program. She received her undergraduate degree from Tulane University, MPH from UC Berkeley, MD from George Washington University, and is board certified in Family Medicine. She is a Cambia Health Foundation Sojourns Scholar, advancing interprofessional education on trauma-informed palliative care. Professional interests include trauma-informed care, health equity, social justice, global health, and medical education.
