Pragat Patel is a senior at the University of Pennsylvania, where he is completing a dual-degree in Neuroscience (B.A.) and Bioengineering (M.S.E.). His work is dedicated to integrating technical innovation with hospital operations to improve both clinical outcomes and provider workflows. Pragat recently spearheaded a clinical initiative to decrease surgical carbon emissions through anesthesia sustainability protocols and designed programs to expand pediatric health screenings in underserved communities. Beyond the clinic, he collaborates on health policy research regarding drug procurement and Medicare/Medicaid legislation. He is currently exploring applications of AI to reduce administrative friction and clinician burnout in specialty care. Pragat intends to pursue a career in radiation oncology, where he plans to leverage his engineering background to dismantle the systemic inefficiencies that disrupt the delivery of patient-centered care.
