Physician, Primary Palliative Care Catalyst
Kaiser Permanente
I grew up in Dallas, TX where I also attended medical school (you may see me wearing cowboy boots!). I completed my internal medicine residency in Baltimore at The Johns Hopkins Hospital where I developed a passion for providing care to critically ill patients and supporting their families through their most trying times. This led me to fellowships in both Critical Care Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Care at Stanford Hospital where I pursued research studying what matters most to critically ill patients and their families.
I joined The Permanente Medical Group in 2021. Clinically I work in the Cardiac ICU taking care of critically ill patients after cardiac procedures and attend on the inpatient palliative care service. I serve as the Primary Palliative Care Catalyst for North Sacramento Valley where I help colleagues develop and practice serious illness communication skills and improve systems to support care for seriously ill patients and their families.
