Dr. Savier Alemán Rama earned his medical degree from the University of Medical Sciences of Havana in 2010, graduating with the prestigious Golden Degree, an honor awarded for exceptional academic performance. He went on to complete formal training in Anesthesiology at the renowned Hermanos Ameijeiras Hospital in Havana, where he also served as Chief Resident, demonstrating early leadership and a strong commitment to clinical excellence.
After relocating to the United States, Dr. Alemán Rama transitioned to Internal Medicine and is currently a PGY-3 Internal Medicine resident at HCA Florida Aventura Hospital. His leadership continues to be recognized: he currently serves as Chief Resident for both the Internal Medicine Program and the Transitional Year Program, where he is actively involved in resident education, curriculum development, and quality improvement initiatives.
Dr. Alemán Rama is an applicant to Palliative and Hospice Medicine fellowship, a field that aligns closely with his dedication to patient-centered care, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration. His broader professional passions include medical education, strengthening clinical bedside diagnosis, and advancing preventive medicine. He is also expanding his academic interests into anti-aging medicine, exploring its emerging evidence base and potential integration into holistic patient care.
In addition to his clinical and academic roles, Dr. Alemán Rama values cultivating a well-rounded and balanced life. Outside of medicine, he enjoys reading, film, and cooking, pursuits that provide creativity, perspective, and personal renewal.
