Palliative Care Physician; Director of Enrichment or Engagement

Carine Davila, MD, MPH, is a palliative care physician at Massachusetts General Hospital who is passionate about improving access and quality palliative care for underserved populations. She serves as Director of Enrichment and Engagement for the Division of Palliative Care and Geriatric Medicine at MGH and as the Assistant Director for Engagement for the Continuum Project, a health-system-wide initiative to promote high quality conversations and care to people across the age and health spectrum. Her current research focuses on understanding the communication experiences of seriously ill Spanish-speaking patients, clinicians, and interpreters to design interventions with the goal of improving the serious illness communication experience for patients who speak languages other than English.
