Director of Outpatient Supportive Care Clinic

Dr. Curseen is board-certified in internal medicine, geriatrics, and palliative care. She is currently the director of the outpatient supportive care clinic at the Emory Palliative Care Center and leads the Winship Cancer Institute Palliative Care Program. Her clinical practice focuses on providing multidisciplinary physical, emotional, and spiritual care for patients with serious illnesses and helping patients with complex decision-making. She is a board member of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine and currently serves as President Elect. She holds the distinction of Eminent Clinician and is co-chair of the Georgia Cancer Consortium Palliative Care Workgroup. Additionally, she serves on the board of TOUCH, The Black Breast Cancer Alliance, an organization dedicated to fostering collaboration in science and outreach to improve outcomes for Black women diagnosed with breast cancer. As a member of the Winship Cancer Prevention and Control Research Program, Curseen concentrates her research on developing innovative approaches to treating cancer pain and exploring the impact of implicit bias in providing high-quality, equitable care, palliative care in hidradenitis suppurativa and hemophilia.
