Dr. Emily Martin is the Director of Palliative Care and a Physician Informaticist at UCLA Health. She graduated magna cum laude from the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University, completed internal medicine residency and palliative medicine fellowship at the University of California, San Diego, and earned a Master of Science in Health Policy and Management (Implementation Science track) from the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. She was named an AAHPM Emerging Leader in 2019, an AAHPM Leadership Scholar in 2022, and a fellow of the Academy in 2022. Dr. Martin is chair-elect of the AAHPM Quality Committee and serves on the Epic Systems Palliative Care Steering Board, the Partnership for Quality Measurement’s Endorsement and Maintenance Committee, and the American Radium Society Appropriate Use Criteria Committee on Palliation and Symptom Management.
