Dr. Dana Clifton is an Associate Professor in Medicine and Pediatrics at Duke University Hospital. Dr. Clifton attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then matriculated at Duke University for medical school. Dr. Clifton is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Pediatric Hospital Medicine and she works clinically as a Medicine-Pediatrics hospitalist. Dr. Clifton helped found and currently serves as the Co-Medical Director of COMET, a consult service designed to improve the care of hospitalized patients with opioid use disorder. Dr. Clifton is also dedicated to medical education and is an Associate Program Director for the Combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Program at Duke.
