Holly Yang, MD MSHPEd HMDC MACP FAAHPM is a member of the Assessments Workgroup for the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM), and she served as a member of AAHPM’s EPAs/Curricular Milestones Workgroup as well as the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education’s Hospice and Palliative Medicine Milestones Working Group. In the past, she has served on a variety of AAHPM committees and projects primarily focused on education and workforce issues. Dr. Yang is a past president of AAHPM, and a past member of the Board of Directors for the Hospice Medical Director Certification Board. She is the Scripps Health Co-Director for the University of California, San Diego (UCSD)/Scripps Health Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship program, and is a voluntary Associate Clinical Professor at UCSD School of Medicine. Clinically, she takes care of patients as an inpatient palliative medicine consultant in the Scripps Health system in San Diego, and through the course of her career has enjoyed caring for people in hospice, outpatient palliative care, and home-based palliative care. She participates in education through multiple organizations outside of her day job, including teaching serious illness communication as a faculty member and strategic partner with VitalTalk and compassionate care at end-of-life as faculty at Upaya Institute’s Being with Dying program.
