Director/Clinical Service Line Chief, Associate Professor, Palliative Care

Kira Skavinski, DO FAAHPM, is the Director/Clinical Service Line Chief of the Palliative Care Program in the Division of Geriatrics, Gerontology, and Palliative Care at UC San Diego Heath, where she is an Associate Professor of Medicine. She additionally serves as the Medical Director of the Palliative Care Ambulatory Clinics. Dr. Skavinski received her medical degree from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a Palliative Care track within her Family Medicine Residency program at the Overlook Medical Center/Atlantic Health System in Summit, New Jersey. Following her residency, she was a Dickenson Family Foundation Fellow in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at the San Diego Hospice and Institute for Palliative Medicine. Dr. Skavinski appreciates the opportunity to spend time both in clinic and on the inpatient service at UC San Diego Health. In her free time she enjoys sports and traveling with her husband and two sons.
