Dr. Mona Tareen is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine (CCLCM) and Section Head of the Palliative and Supportive Care Program at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi within the Institute of Oncology. She trained in Internal Medicine at the University of Chicago Hospitals, Geriatric Medicine at Rush University Medical Center, and Hospice and Palliative Medicine at the former Midwest Hospice and Palliative Care Center.
After 14 years of practice in Chicago, she relocated to the UAE. Dr. Tareen holds a Master’s degree in Cannabis Science and Therapeutics from the University of Maryland (2023) and is currently pursuing a PhD in Palliative Care. Her research interests include the impact of medical non-disclosure on end-of-life care in Muslim-majority countries and the use of medical cannabis for complex symptom management in palliative care.
