Benjamin T. Herold is a medical student at NYU Grossman School of Medicine whose research background spans basic science and clinical research in radiation oncology, oncology and palliative care. Prior to medical school, he conducted laboratory research focused on DNA damage repair mechanisms in cancer biology at the University of Virginia School of Medicine and later transitioned to clinical research examining communication, decision-making, bereavement, and patient-reported outcomes in pediatric and adolescent and young adult oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. His current interests center on applying research insights to improve patient-centered care in serious illness.
