Dr. Matthew Kwong is the Hospice Medical Director of Asian Network Hospice in Oakland, CA. Dr. Kwong provides multilingual hospice care to the vulnerable and underserved East Asian population in the San Francisco Bay Area. He works to maximize the interdisciplinary group’s impact on every patient so that East Asian patients who are often unfamiliar with hospice care can receive the full benefit. In addition to overseeing patient care, he educates and trains hospice nursing staff and providers, and leads Asian Network through the dynamic regulatory environment. Dr. Kwong also provides education to learners about communicating with East Asian patients about hospice care and end of life issues. Dr. Kwong is involved in community activism in Oakland Chinatown and the greater San Francisco Bay Area and rallies community members to support worthy local causes.
