Julie Hauer is faculty at Boston Children’s Hospital since 2009 and medical director now consultant at Seven Hills Pediatric Center, a long-term care facility in Massachusetts. Starting 30 years ago at Gillette Children’s in Minnesota, Julie has focused on children with severe neurological impairment who have multiple co-morbidities, resulting in complex medical care and decision-making. Her work includes complex symptom treatment and most recently a framework to aid iterative decision-making and end-of-life care. Julie has written 2 books and provided the medical content for Courageous Parents NeuroJourney. Her experiences learning with and from parents, along with interdisciplinary colleagues, has been the guiding light these 30 years.
