Dr. Linsey D. O’Donnell is a physician leader board-certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Geriatrics, and Family Medicine, dedicated to integrating interdisciplinary, person-centered care for individuals with serious illness into healthcare delivery systems. Her work focuses on developing innovative programs that empower patients and families to achieve optimal quality of life throughout their medical journey.
Currently, Dr. O’Donnell serves as a Medical Director for Highmark Health’s Enhanced Community Care Management (ECCM) program. In this leadership role, she oversees and supports a multi-state community palliative care program that provides longitudinal, multidisciplinary care management for patients with serious or complex illness. The ECCM program collaborates with existing care teams to coordinate care, facilitate advance care planning, support prognostic awareness, and address medical, behavioral, and social factors impacting patient outcomes.
Prior to her current role, Dr. O’Donnell was instrumental in establishing an innovative outpatient palliative care program at ChristianaCare. This program featured embedded services within various specialty clinics and integrated both in-home and telemedicine care, while also supporting the system’s population health initiatives.
Dr. O’Donnell is also a trained VitalTalk facilitator, providing high-level communication training to healthcare providers. She is a distinguished educator and lecturer on critical topics including symptom management, communication, and advance care planning.
