Erin Taylor LICSW, MSW is a clinical social worker at Mayo Clinic Rochester who works within the outpatient palliative care clinic. She completed her undergraduate degree from Winona State University in 2004 and her graduate degree of Clinical Social Work from University of St. Thomas/St. Catherine’s University in St. Paul MN in 2015. She has worked in various organizations within the Rochester community primarily in medical social work. She has expertise in mental health, chemical dependency, as well as working for local community hospice, before coming to Mayo Clinic in 2015. Since coming to Mayo, she has worked in the inpatient setting focusing on Gastrointestinal and Pulmonary patients as well as assisting in opening the first Complex Intervention Unit at St. Mary’s hospital which cared for patients with behavioral issues in the hospital setting. Erin has worked in the outpatient palliative clinic since 2018 working to grow their psychosocial program to care for both patients and their caregivers. She provides counseling to patients and families who are facing serious illness and helping them to navigate the complexity of the healthcare system and accessing services and supports outside of the clinic. She assists in exploring adaptive coping strategies and working on non-pharmacological interventions for stress, anxiety and sleep. Erin is continuing to grow their Meaning Centered Psychotherapy program for patients and caregivers that focuses on finding meaning while facing a serious illness.
