Rebecca (Becky) DeBoer, MD, MA is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at UCSF and an attending medical oncologist at Zuckerberg San Francisco Hospital (SFGH). She has an academic background in bioethics and global health, and prior clinical experience working as an oncology clinician at Butaro Hospital in rural Rwanda with the NGO Partners In Health. Her research uses implementation science to improve patient-centered cancer care delivery in diverse settings including Rwanda, Tanzania, and the public safety net health system in San Francisco. Her current projects focus on patient-clinician communication and improving cancer care delivery in resource-limited contexts. Dr. DeBoer also teaches Global Health Ethics (PHW213) at the UC Berkeley School of Public Health. Clinically, she has a general oncology clinic and a breast oncology clinic at SFGH.
