Jane Lowers is a social scientist and Assistant Professor in the Division of Palliative Medicine at Emory University. Dr. Lowers earned a masters in public administration from Baruch College in New York and a PhD in palliative care from Lancaster University in England. Formerly a medical journalist, she conducts qualitative and mixed-methods research on how people living alone, particularly those with cognitive impairment or dementia, perceive and plan for future care needs, and the experiences of friends and neighbors who look after them. She is a 2023-24 Health and Aging Policy Fellow.
