Dr. Lauren Kelly is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Kelly has a passion for and expertise in the care of older adult and seriously ill patients with substance use disorders and chronic pain. Her clinical practice is in Supportive Oncology at the Ruttenberg Treatment Center of the Tisch Cancer Institute, and she founded and leads a program for Geriatric Co-Management at the Mount Sinai Behavioral Health Center for older adults with SUD who have complex needs and high care utilization. Dr. Kelly has been involved in local and national educational efforts, health system leadership, and clinical program development to increase access to quality geriatric and palliative care for patients with substance use disorders. She completed her Fellowship in integrated Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital and Residency in internal Medicine in the Primary Care track at New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical College. She received a BS in English Literature from Barnard College, a Master of Science in Narrative Medicine from Columbia University and a combined MD/MPH from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Kelly is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, Palliative Medicine, and Addiction Medicine.
